Sure, your body needs a good chunk of sodium, but it’s not the only player in the game. We knew we had to step up and offer a balanced formula—and we didn’t just stop there. Along with the big three (sodium, potassium, and magnesium), SALTT packs in other trace minerals. These under-the-radar minerals are crucial for your body, even if they don’t get the spotlight as often.

Essential Trace Minerals

Here are some of the trace elements you’ll find in SALTT that are considered essential by the United States Food and Drug Administration:

  • Chromium: Helps control blood sugar and metabolism function.
  • Copper: Plays a role in energy production, metabolism, and more.
  • Iron: Needed to make red blood cells and also contributes to muscle growth.
  • Manganese: Has a number of roles in metabolism, bone health, and healing.
  • Molybdenum: Essential for enzyme production.
  • Phosphorus: Used by your body for energy production and storage, activating hormones, and more.

What about Celtic salt or Himalayan salt?

Celtic and Himalayan salts often get hyped for their trace minerals. Let’s break it down:

  • Celtic Salt: Also known as grey sea salt, this salt is basically wetter than others, which means you’re paying for a lot of ocean water. Like other sea salts, Celtic salt may contain trace amounts of heavy metals or microplastics due to ocean pollution. Though these contaminants are usually present in trace amounts, they are a concern for those consuming large quantities or concerned about ocean-derived contaminants. Claims of “80 minerals” are thrown around, but good luck finding any legit list of these minerals from Celtic salt companies.
  • Pink Himalayan Salt: Mined primarily in Pakistan, its pink hue comes from trace iron. The good? It might contain other trace minerals. The bad?Concerns over ethical sourcing and labor practices were a BIG no-go for us. Plus, a lot of what's sold as Himalayan salt is just dyed table salt. Want to check if it’s legit? Dissolve some in water. If there’s no sandy grit left behind, it’s probably fake.

How does SALTT compare?
